The following areas were graveled:  Pine Creek Road, Bald Peak Road, & Camp Globe Road.

First weekend in July had over 12” of rain in a 24-hour period. Dickerson Avenue was closed due to two severe washouts in the road. Area was re-graveled, and riprap applied to the sides. A culvert came loose and was sticking up on Lakeside Road.Repaired.

The 1st culvert going west on Camp Globe was replaced.

Scrap metal was cleaned up from the Maintenance Building. Please do not discard junk here.

Old concrete culverts were sold, to help clean up area.

A Well was installed at the Maintenance Building to help clean equipment.

Willard Road clean up is expected to be done by July 2025.

South Half of South Foster will have Fairchild Fire Protection District coverage for all Fire/Ems emergencies. No longer covered by Alma Center.

Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) recap.

As part of our CWPP, the Town is once again, offering brush and leaf pick up for town property owners. Please bag leaves and garden waste and placed at the end of your drive or where your private road joins with the town road. Note this does not include grass clippings. Bags should be easily handled. Do not overfill them!! Logs should be stacked neatly. Brush should be oriented all in the same direction to facilitate handling during pick up.DO NOT have limbs over 8 feet long.

As always, anyone with large amounts of brush due to storm, damage, yard projects, etc. they can call the Town Chairman at (309) 236–7549 to schedule a special pick up.

Please note, since the old town landfill area also serves as a helicopter landing pad for medical emergencies. It is important that people do not dump their own brush in this area. Please call, if you need brush picked up so that the town can manage how and where the brush is stored.

Also, remember that the DNR fire-watch towers have been decommissioned. Communities like ours are at risk for wildfire, we rely on the vigilance of citizens. So now, more than ever, if you see a fire, report it to 911!
