Road and Emergency Services Updates
The Willow Road Project has been completed and is being maintained for one year by J&M Excavating.
South Foster has had Fairchild Fire Protection District coverage for Fire and EMS emergencies during the past year. Greenwood Fire/EMS oversees emergencies in Northern Foster.
Community Wildfire Protection Plan
As part of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan, the Town is once again offering brush and leaf pickup for town property owners.
Brush and Leaf Pickup Guidelines
- Bagged leaves should be placed at the end of your driveway or where your private road joins the town road.
- Grass clippings are not included.
- Bags should be easy to manage. Please do not overfill them.
- Limbs should be stacked neatly.
- Brush should be oriented in the same direction to help with pickup.
- Limbs must not be over eight feet long.
Anyone with substantial amounts of brush due to storms, damage, yard projects, or similar situations may call the Town Chairman at (309) 236-7549 to schedule a special pickup.
Please Do Not Dump Brush at the Old Town Landfill Area
The old town landfill area also serves as a helicopter landing pad for medical emergencies. Please do not dump brush in this area. Call the Town if you need brush picked up so the Town can manage how and where brush is placed.
Wildfire Safety Reminder
DNR fire-watch towers have been decommissioned. Communities like ours are at risk of wildfire, and we rely on the vigilance of citizens. If you see a fire, report it to 911.
2025 Area Projects

- Burning permit and Smokey Bear DNR signs were placed on Camp Globe, Butler, and Hay Creek Roads.
- 30 mph / slow down children present signs were placed on Pine Creek Road.

- Grants were received to help replace the culvert on Camp Globe Road, patch Dickerson Avenue, and support brush and limb pickup and mulching for the Wildfire Risk Reduction Project.

Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers signs are in the area. If your crime tip leads to a conviction, you may receive a reward and remain anonymous.
Many properties in the area are family cabins, weekend getaways, hunting cabins, rentals, and VRBOs. Help your neighbors and the community. If you see something suspicious, say something.
Recycling
The Town has contracted recycling services with GFL, Green for Life Environmental, out of Thorp. This service includes recycling only and does not include garbage pickup.
The service is offered to all property owners in the township. To sign up, contact Kurt Redfern at 800-440-4990 or 715-669-3868. Please mention that you wish to participate in the municipal recycling program for the Town of Foster.
